4519 Kitchen

4519 has an enclosed Kitchen measuring approximately 10 feet x 11 feet.

All of the Appliances are new, never used
and are still in their original protective wrapping...

Many of the smaller homes here in Mount Vernon have had the interior wall between the Kitchen and the Dining Room removed for a more Open Concept feeling.

However, before you consider doing that (fairly easy to do with the roof rafter design of Mount Vernon homes), please note this:

The nice thing about keeping the existing separate Kitchen area design is that it makes the Kitchen fairly private from your entertaining areas in the rest of the home.

"What happens in the Kitchen, stays in the Kitchen".

With an Open Concept design, your Kitchen with its cooking, dishes, pots and pans are all out in the open. The present Owner of 4519 appreciated the original design and did not choose to remove the Kitchen walls. This design makes for more privacy when cooking and is more like a traditional home with a separate meal preparation area rather than being part of the Living Room/Dining room space.

Because the Kitchen is rather large (10 feet x 11 feet) and is not a galley type design as have many homes here in Mount Vernon, there is plenty of space in the Kitchen for your guests to visit you while cooking the meal without getting into your way.

The Kitchen has a pass-through opening between the Kitchen and the Dining Room so that your guests do not have to come into the Kitchen to be served. This opening could be closed off with shutters if desired for further privacy.

Note that the Kitchen has its own pocket door to its entry which allows further privacy while preparing meals or closing off the Kitchen when surprise guests show up.

The Kitchen has had recent tile (slate appearance) flooring installed and the original Domed ceiling was removed and replaced with a white painted Tongue & Groove Pine inset.

Halogen mini-track lights within the ceiling inset provides bright illumination to the Kitchen area. Each track light bar has its own ON/OFF wall switch to adjust the brightness to your lighting needs. The LED light within the inset ceiling fan makes for a great night-light that you can leave ON all the time.

A high velocity 34 inch Kichler 4078 CFM mini-Ceiling fan was recently installed that really pushes the air for keeping the cook cool during meal preparation.

The Kitchen cabinets have just been replaced with soft close drawers/cabinets in a bright white Shaker design. Satin finish Post Office style drawer pulls compliment the new cabinetry. Note in the photo that the cabinets are made of plywood, not particle board. Very good quality. The white faces contrast nicely with the birch plywood in the interiors.

The Countertop is genuine Black Walnut butcher-block. It is very easy to take of and adds quite a lot of warmth to the Kitchen.

All of the Kitchen appliances are new, never used. Whirlpool Stainless Steel. Microwave, Oven, Dishwasher and the Refrigerator.

The Kitchen double stainless steel sink (with a recently installed InSinkErator) is equipped with a new Krause commercial restaurant faucet.

The Kitchen has just been painted (Silver Birch with Bright White trim).

Across the Hallway from the Kitchen is a huge, deep Pantry. 6 feet wide x 2 feet deep. Shelved storage on the left side with a Closet on the right side.

Note that in the Hallway ceiling is a large Ventilation Fan that can be used to pull fresh, cool outside air into the house when the temperatures are not hot enough to run the Air Conditioner, or to pull cooking fumes out of the house quickly.

The Kitchen has a western facing front window for wonderful Florida sunset views while you are preparing the evening meals.
